A media playback device including a media browser having a media playlist which includes a reference to at least one media document available for playback on the device, and a browsing history list including references to zero or more content documents, wherein the media browser is configured, responsive to browsing and playback activity of a user during a media browsing session, to perform integrated updates of the media playlist and browsing history list such that the user is provided with a consistent media browsing and playback experience.
