Patent/Application # 20100017886
Description
A system for tracking the activation and hence the usage of software securely on remote devices, the information is then used for, but not limited to, royalty calculation. This prior art focuses more on the technical aspect of implementing such system or method, such as the encryption and authentication aspect of the concept, but it is nonetheless obvious to someone in the gaming industry to implement a similar method for distribution of gaming software on gaming machines.
