The main thrust of this patent application seems to be a machine designed to complicate gaming to make it more interesting and less formulaic. Rather than just awarding a win when a single row of a particular symbol (say a cherry) appears, it creates situations where a winning combination can appear in a more random fashion. More so, it allows for not just identical symbols for a win, but it can also include a range of different symbols.

Other elements of the specification describe interactions with computer memory, processors and storage devices, player credit, peripheral devices, I/O interfaces and a network interface.

Anyone able to read this as anything other than allowing multiple win lines and ensuring the customer is playing at least one of them in each game?
