Prior Art (7)
Patent/Application # 6,514,141
Description
The prior art concerns a gaming device that allows players to wager again after winning and therefore increase their reward. The claim is essentially only over the bonus round itself, very similar to the Australian application.
Patent/Application # 6,126,542
Description
The invention is a device that allows players, upon winning in the primary game, to wager their winnings by trying to guess where certain values were on a board displayed on the screen. If they guess correctly, the player receives a greater reward. Although the first indication is that the device is a video poker machine, the summary of the invention states that it could be that, a reel-slot machine or something along those lines.
Patent/Application # 5,823,874
Description
This patent deals with a standard reel-slot gaming machine with an additional wheel attached which determines any further payout. When the reels end in a particular order, the wheel is activated and the player has the chance to win a greater amount, as determined by the multiplier in the wheel.
Patent/Application # 6,159,096
Description
This patent deals with a reel-slot gaming device – it selects a number of symbols each with varying degrees of probability, and then works in the normal manner for a slot machine. Particular sets of symbols coming to a rest at the same time award particular pay-outs to the user
Patent/Application # 09/939001
Description
This prior art is an issued patent, describing a gaming method that has an opt-in second round that determines a multiplier value which is in turn used to calculate the final award of a single game.
The two-stage structure of the gameplay and the idea is very similar to the one described in the application, differing only in the actual game and the multiplier values.
Patent/Application # 10/935021
Description
This prior art patent describes a very similar method of gaming that has the same two-stage structure as described by the patent application. The optional second stage could be triggered by events occurred in the first stage and the result of second stage can be used to modify the award earned in the first stage.
Patent/Application # 6,869,360
Description
Device and method for a video slot machine, in which consumers placed wagers and were rewarded accordingly if images came up on the screen in a particular order.
